Common to both Visionradio's business direction and the direct involvement in the EasyChannel for Content project is the work in creating new ICT channels and ways for content providers and consumers to interact
Visionradio is a design house combined with a business solution development company. The company specialisation is in the creation and delivery of both current and next generation Internet Protocol (IP) visual and audio services. Visionradio's activities embrace not only traditional ICT deployment channels, most widely seen through PC web sites, but also position the company amongst the World leaders in internet service delivery over TV and radio. Developments include the World’s first "radio cartoon", purposed for and delivered over DAB, and have created a combined Internet TV & PC portal entitled “easy2” (www.easy2.net).
Furthermore, Visionradio have been involved in wireless projects looking at the promise behind 3rd generation and WiFi mobile IP access. Visionradio works with industry partners and clients such as Panasonic, ntl, Netgem, Microsoft, and NTT DoCoMo. This heritage and experience allows a strong input to the project on the changing use of ICT.
Visionradio bring their commercial, marketing and project management skills to the EasyChannel for Content project together with their informed view of the technological capabilities underpinning the development of the content market.

De Montfort University brings the technical development and research strengths from within the Faculty of Computing Sciences and Engineering to bear in providing the physical prototype and system delivery architecture to the EasyChannel project
De Montfort University is:
• Committed
to excellence
• Committed to Professional,
Creative and Vocational education
• Committed to research aligned
with our mission
• Committed to the application
of our knowledge
It is building upon its traditional strengths to become the leading University
for Professional, Creative and Vocational education, underpinned by research
excellence.
Within the Faculty of Computing Sciences and Engineering,
a number of projects have been established working with emda. These include
a new project in the sub-regional LSEP (Leicester Shire Economic partnership)
named LEAP (Lean Enterprise Activity Plan). LEAP focuses on lean implementation
training within SMEs. It provides a support platform to protect existing
manufacturing employment and ensure future sustainability of Leicestershire’s
manufacturing base. Through a market driven approach, LEAP will directly
respond to the training development needs of SMEs in Leicestershire’s
diverse manufacturing base that will enable them to deploy personnel resources
to implement tailored Lean training interventions. This will provide Leicestershire
SMEs with access to the world class technical, scientific and knowledge resources
required for supporting sustainable manufacturing businesses.
Other proposals for emda related funding are currently under development within
the faculty in areas such as advanced ICT and space systems.
De Montfort University and Visionradio have worked together previously on another innovation project.
DMU and Visionradio are both members of TAHI, The Application Home Initiative. Through this association of organisations, a programme of activity was developed and part funded by the UK Government through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), starting in 2002. This programme, Services Aggregation (SA), seeks to prove the technical and commercial viability of offering a range of services into the home over the Internet. The thinking and core concepts of the SA programme, its contractual formation (involving 15 organisations collaborating including universities, large corporates and small/medium enterprises) and project management was provided by Geoff Ward of Visionradio. Visionradio have been leading aspects of the SA programme and have concentrated on the delivery of music and other creative resources to multi-platform environments. Meanwhile, DMU have been providing architectural guidance to the programme, together with the monitoring mechanisms that allow full control and reporting of activity. Both organisations have worked on the development of the concepts for the Easy Channel for Content project and have approved the proposed work plan.
