Project Objectives

The project objectives have been set as follows:

1. Specify the requirements of an Easy Channel multi-platform content delivery system

2. Engage some 200 members of the creative community (with at least 3 “hits”), the first communication by the end of January 2005, making them aware of the Easy Channel concept and seeking their involvement with the project

3. Prepare an initial prototype Easy Channel demonstrator system by the end of June 2005

4. Engage at least 4 members of the creative community in detailed discussions resulting in a commitment for them to develop interfaces into the prototype Easy Channel system by end of July 2005

5. Engage some 20 organisations from the potential user community by the end of May 2005, making them aware of the Easy Channel project and seeking their involvement

6. Develop working examples of multi-platform output and complete a demonstration capability sufficient to invite some 100 organisations to attend presentations and demonstrations by the end of October 2005

7. Recommend guidelines on content design and purposing for various platforms in reports provided to EMDA and, under their guidance, in edited versions circulated to the creative and user communities by end of December 2005

8. Gauge the market potential, the acceptability of the solution and develop a proposal for the commercial deployment of an Easy Channel type system. If the pilot proves successful, this deployment would target to launch a start-up service provider company (initially at DMU’s Innovation Centre) by the end of December 2005
